An International Students’ Conference on Malaria in the Tropics
Featuring a Uganda Health Communication Alliance Debate: DDT and Malaria – What Comes Next?
Who: The Makerere University Medical Students Association, with support from Uganda Health Communication Alliance
What: More than 500 prominent researchers, doctors and students, along with health journalists and communicators, will examine changing trends in the malaria epidemic, featuring scientific paper presentations, exhibitions and debates – including the UHCA-sponsored debate on the use of DDT in the fight against malaria.

- Addresses by Dr. Steven Kijjambu, dean of the Makerere University Faculty of Medicine; David Sswerwadda, the dean of Makerere University Faculty School of Public Health, Nelson K. Ssewankambo, principal, College of Health Sciences; Honored Guest: Namirembe Bitamazire, Minister of Education; Keynote Address: “Malaria, the Scope,” Makerere University scientist Moses Kamya (3 p.m.)
